The objective of The Role:
To provide accurate and culturally sensitive interpretation and translation services between Spanish and English, facilitating effective communication in professional settings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Translate written content between Spanish and English with accuracy and attention to cultural context.
- Deliver professional consecutive and simultaneous interpretation in legal, medical, business, and community environments.
- Uphold confidentiality and comply with industry standards and ethical guidelines.
- Adapt tone and terminology based on the context and audience.
- Collaborate with clients and internal teams to ensure clarity and consistency.
- Conduct quality checks and proofreading to ensure translation accuracy.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Valid Canadian license or certification as a professional Spanish–English interpreter/translator.
- Full fluency in Spanish and English, both written and spoken.
- Demonstrated experience in professional interpretation and translation.
- Strong understanding of cultural nuances and linguistic variation.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and time management skills.
- Familiarity with interpretation and translation software is an asset.
- Availability for flexible full-time or part-time work.
