Licensed Russian–English Interpreter and Translator

The objective of The Role:

To facilitate seamless and effective communication between Russian and English speakers by delivering high-quality interpretation and translation services that are accurate, culturally appropriate, and contextually relevant.

Key Responsibilities:

• Translate written materials between Russian and English with linguistic precision and cultural sensitivity.
• Provide consecutive and simultaneous interpretation in various settings, including legal proceedings, healthcare appointments, business meetings, and community services.
• Ensure strict adherence to confidentiality, ethical guidelines, and professional standards.
• Adapt language and tone based on audience, subject matter, and situational context.
• Collaborate with project managers, clients, and internal teams to support successful communication outcomes.
• Review and proofread translations to maintain quality, clarity, and consistency.
  

Qualifications and Requirements:

• Valid Canadian certification or license as a professional interpreter and/or translator (Russian–English).
• Native or near-native fluency in both Russian and English, including excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proven experience in professional interpretation and translation across a range of sectors.
• Strong cultural competency and the ability to navigate language nuances across different dialects or regions.
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage time and meet deadlines.
• Proficiency with translation tools and remote interpretation platforms is an asset.
• Availability to work flexible hours in a full-time or part-time capacity.
